PostHeaderIcon GAME BEGINS NOW AS THE WORLD CUP FEVER IS ONNNNNNNNN!!!!!

Less than 15 days to go for World Cup-2011.This is the first World Cup of this decade and will be hosted by India, Srilanka and Bangladesh. Earlier the matches were scheduled in Pakistan also but due to security reasons the ICC denied the grant.

The opening matches would be between India and Bangladesh on Feb 19, 2011 at Mirpur in Bangladesh. With the lack luture World Cup, 2007 in West Indies, ICC is trying best to achieve a grand success in organizing the World Cup, 2011.

The format of this World Cup has changed a lot. It would constitute of 14 teams divided in group of two containing 7 teams. The matches would be played among the teams in same groups i.e. each team would play against each other in the same group and four top team of each group would qualify for quater finals.

The hot favourites for this world cup are India, South Africa, Srilanka, Australia & England. India would be beginning as hot favourites because of home advantage, huge names and power packed batting line up, India also has an added advantage of spinners on the home turf.

All the matches of India would be played on the home turf except the opening encounter. This would be last World Cup for few great names. Likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Muttaih Murlidharan, Ricky Ponting would be playing their last World Cup,though there are few exciting young entrants which are exciting to watch like Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina from India, Wayne Parnell from South Africa,Eoin Morgan from England. Australia which has been a consistent performer for last three World Cup are going through a reconstruction phase after retirement of great names like Matthew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist, Glen Macgrath can still not be denied from being as a potiential winners, Ricky Ponting playing his last World Cup wants to finish his World Cup career on a winning and high node.

England can also be a winner with its recent performance in Ashes and T20 world cup would keep their followers interested. There is a huge factor KP who can change game on his head, in last few months Eion Morgan has emerged also a capable player and would be worth watch. Spinners would be playing a crucial role on the pitches of the subcontinent, spinning mastero  Muttaih Mmurlidharan is playing his last World Cup,this old willy fox is the spinner to be watched out along with Harbajhan Singh from India and Daniel Vettori from New Zealand along with Johan Botha from South Africa. Greame Sswann has emerged as a great spinner in the last 12-15 months, he would be exciting prospects to be watched on the favourable pitches.
