Interesting Facts about Cricket

Author: First cricket match was played in southern England in the 16th century. At the end of of the 18th century cricket become the national sport of England. Now the cricket becomes the world‘s second most popular sports after football. International cricket council is the governing body with 104 member countries. It is also called as “The Gentleman games”. ICC headquarters is situated in Dubai. It was founded as the Imperial Cricket Conference in 1909 by representatives from England, Australia and South Africa, renamed the International Cricket Conference in 1965, and took up its current name in 1989.
